Description

The stainless steel butt welding elbow is mainly used as a connecting pipe fitting in the pipeline installation, which is used for the connection at the pipe corner. Connect two pipes with the same or different nominal diameter to make the pipe turn. The main difference between stainless steel elbow and carbon steel elbow is the material difference. Generally, long radius elbows will be used in default situations and places with high pressure or high flow rate. If the resistance requirements of solid transportation pipeline are strict, larger radius elbows will be used.The radius of curvature of long radius elbow is 1.5 times of the pipe diameter, and the radius of curvature of short radius elbow is equal to the pipe diameter, i.e. 1 time.

Characteristic

Short radius elbows are generally used in low-pressure fluids or where elbows are limited. Long radius elbows are preferred if there are no conditions or are not specified in the contract.In the use of pipeline, long radius is more common, while short radius is less, which is caused by their special structure.

Compared with short radius elbow, long radius elbow has more uniform curvature and higher compression resistance. Butt welding elbows are generally long radius elbows.

Short radius elbow is generally applicable to pipes with small pressure and resistance, while short radius elbow should not be used for pipes containing solid particles or particles prone to crystallization, two-phase flow pipes, pipes requiring certain flexibility, pipes requiring small pressure drop and pipes prone to vibration.

Considerations

During installation, the long radius stainless steel elbow can be directly installed on the pipeline according to the connection mode, and installed according to the use position. Generally, it can be installed at any position of the pipeline, but it needs to be sealed to prevent leakage and affect the normal operation of the pipeline.

When the ball valve, stop valve and gate valve with stainless steel elbow are used, they are only used for full opening or full closing, and cannot be used for regulating the flow, so as to avoid damage to the elbow.The stainless steel elbows stored for a long time shall be inspected on schedule. The exposed processing surface shall be kept clean, and the dirt shall be removed.

The elbows shall be stored in a clean and dry place indoors. Stacking or outdoor storage is strictly prohibited. Always keep the stainless steel elbow dry and ventilated, keep the device clean and tidy, and store according to the accurate storage method.
