Difference between flat welding flange and butt welding flange:

1.Welding method

In the name we can clearly see the difference between the two: flat welding and butt welding. Specifically, the pipe diameter and wall thickness of the joint end of the flat welding flange are the same as the pipe to be welded, and they are welded together in a flat way. The butt welding flange is a recess with a slightly larger diameter than the outer diameter of the pipe. The pipe is inserted in the socket and then welded.

3. Processing

The butt welding flange adopts a punching die to punch into a half-ring elbow or a casting mold to directly cast into a half-ring elbow, and then two half-ring elbows are welded in groups.
