Description
1. Light Weight
Magnesium alloy is a kind of high performance light structural
material with magnesium as the raw material. Its specific gravity
is similar to that of plastics. Its density is only 1.7 kg/m3,
which is two-thirds of aluminum, steel, and about a quarter of the
strength higher than that of aluminum alloy and steel.
2. Ability
Magnesium alloy plate is able to withstand a certain load, with
good castability and dimensional stability. It is also easy
processing, having low rejection rate as well as good damping
coefficient.
3. Used Field
Magnesium alloy plate or sheet is used in car production,
aerospace, portable computers, mobile phones, electrical
appliances, sports equipment and other fields.
Advantages
- Small density but high strength and good rigidity
Among the existing engineering metals, magnesium has the smallest
density, at 1/5 of that of steel, 1/4 of that of zinc, and 2/3 of
that of aluminum. The good rigidity performance of magnesium alloy
is very beneficial to the design of the electronic component.
Magnesium alloy bar tends to deform greatly when subjected to
external forces. However, when subjected to impact loading, the
energy absorbed is 1.5 times that of aluminum, so it is suitable
for the parts that should be impacted -- wheels; Magnesium alloy
has a high damping capacity and is an ideal material to avoid
fatigue caused by vibration and noise.
Magnesium alloy sheet is a good casting material, and it has good
fluidity and rapid solidification rate, so it can be produced in
fine surface, sharp edges and corners of the parts, and can prevent
excessive shrinkage to ensure dimensional tolerance.
Due to the low heat capacity of magnesium alloy, its production
efficiency is 40% ~ 50% higher, and the casting size is not only
stable, but also the precision is high with good finish surface.
