As the shielding layer, the aluminum-magnesium alloy wire is mainly to reduce the cost of the product, which can only be mechanically connected to the terminals, and cannot be welded.

The outer conductor plays a dual role of loop and shield, and the energy loss on the outer conductor accounts for about one-third of the conductor loss. Therefore, the conductivity requirement of the outer conductor material is not as high as that of the inner conductor.

Aluminum with smaller conductivity than copper can be used as the outer conductor, which has little impact on the total attenuation, but has great benefits in cost and weight. The structure has the forms of knitting, tubular, stranding, plating, etc.

The braided outer conductor is usually made of 0.1-0.3mm diameter soft metal wire. In order to reduce and improve the shielding performance, the woven coverage should be no less than 90%.
