Many interconnect and splicing enclosures accommodate adapter plates and/or splice trays, and also include cable management components to route incoming fiber. The height of fiber patch panels is commonly measured in ‘Rack Units’, where 1 Rack Unit = 1.75” height. An enclosure is also frequently defined by how many adapter plates, splice trays, or overall ports it will accommodate.
