The 2711P-K12C4A8 PanelView Plus 6 Terminal facilitates the user’s ability to monitor and control machines with its interactive graphics display module. It has flexible configuration through its separate logic, display, and communication modules. The 2711P-K12C4A8 runs the preloaded FactoryTalk software on startup and it can be modified for desktop access. Various Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications can also be developed using the FactoryTalk View Studio application for the Machine Edition software.
The 2711P-K12C4A8 terminal comes with a 12.1-inch active-matrix backlit screen with a keypad input. The keypad has a stainless-steel membrane for protection and navigation, numeric, and function keys. It has an 800 x 600 resolution and 18-bit color graphics. It also has 512 MB each of RAM and nonvolatile memory for data storage. It measures 20 x 14 x 8 inches and weighs 10 lbs. The 2711P-K12C4A8 runs on 100 - 240V AC and at 50 - 60 Hz. For communication, it comes with Ethernet and RS-232 serial ports and with optional DH-485, DH+, and ControlNet modules. The 2711P-K12C4A8 also has 2 USB ports for connecting external devices such as mice, keyboards, printers, and flashdrives.
The 2711P-K12C4A8 terminal runs the Windows CE 6.0 operating system, providing basic user functionalities like an FTP server, a VNC Client Server, ActiveX controls, a pdf viewer, and third-party support. It also supports a Secure Digital (SD) card for data backup and it includes a real-time clock for timestamping critical data. The clock battery’s minimum lifespan of 4 years. The 2711P-K12C4A8 is superior to its predecessors in the areas of transition rate, processor speed, memory, and illumination.

The EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) is an open industrial network that supports real-time I/O messaging, as well as message exchange. The Ethernet port connects to a controller on an EtherNet/IP network by using both the network and standard Ethernet connections. This port can work with application transfers and printing as well. The EtherNet/IP screen displays and allows the user to modify some of the EtherNet/IP communication settings for a PanelView terminal.
