Thanks to the sound insulation of the partition, it is possible to reduce the transmission towards the underlying environment from that in which the sound is generated. The Impact Sound Level Index Lnw represents the capability of a horizontal partition to reduce impact noises. It is evaluated by means of a tapping machine on the floor .
