Install and replace valve oil seal:

1. Disassembly steps of valve rod oil seal:
(1)Remove the camshaft and hydraulic tappet, and its face down storage, operation must pay attention to the tappet is not interchangeable. Remove the spark plug using the spark plug wrench 3122B, adjust the piston of the corresponding cylinder to the top dead center, and screw the pressure hose vw653/3 into the threaded hole of the spark plug.
(2) bolt the spring compression tool 3362 onto the cylinder head, as shown in figure (1).

Adjust the relevant valves to the correct position and connect the pressure hose to the air compressor (air pressure at least 600kPa). Press down the valve spring with the threaded mandrel and thrust piece and remove the spring.
(3) can tap valve spring seat remove air lock block. Pull the valve rod oil seal with tool 3364, as shown in figure (2).

2. Installation of valve rod oil seal.
Attach the plastic sleeve (FIG. (3) A) to the valve stem to prevent damage to the new valve stem oil seal. Apply a light coat of oil to the oil lip. Attach the oil seal (figure (3) B) to tool 3365 and slowly push it onto the valve guide. Special note: apply a layer of oil on the valve rod before installing inlet and exhaust.
