Brushless dc fan use a permanent magnet excitation, eliminate the
loss of induction motor excitation currents; realizing the small
loss an high efficiency characteristics
Compared with the frequency control of induction motor, brushless
dc ,motor is simpler and more controllable, easy to perform control

circuit are simpler, the cost lower than ec blower’s
Furthermore, the electronically commutated motors are extremely
quiet and operate at efficiencies of
up to 90 %. Thus they attain significantly higher values than most
voltage-controlled asynchronous
motors, which have typical efficiencies of between 30 % and 60 %.
At the same operating point, therefore,
the power consumption of the EC fans is considerably less.
With integrated motor electronics, the EC fans can be easily speed
controlled via a 0-10 V signal or by
the use of a potentiometer. As an option up to three air flow
values can be programmed in "Constant
Flow" mode.

Additional Functions
Constant pressure : Used in conjunction with a pressure sensor, the
fan maintains the same pressure at varying airflow (ideal for
ducted applications).
Operates with forward curved centrifugal fans without pressure
sensor and with backward curved motorised impellers with pressure
sensor (Available on Ecofit fans).
Constant airflow : The fan maintains the same airflow at varying
pressure (ideal for filtered applications) (Available on Ecofit
fans).
0-10VDC / PWM output : EC motors can be controlled by a simple,
standard 10kOhms potentiometer on the integrated 0-10VDC output
(Available on both Ecofit & Rosenberg fans)
Hall effect : A tachometric output is available, which can be used
for an optional alarm relay (Available on both Ecofit & Rosenberg
fans)
