How does Galvalume age?
It is important to understand that Galvalume metal will start to
rust and corrode overtime. It will age naturally, creating a unique, one of a kind metal. The more unpainted metal is exposed to the elements, the more it
will take on a life of its own. A Galvalume roof is durable and can
outlast asphalt roofs by years.
Is Galvalume steel magnetic?
One of the questions we hear frequently concerns whether galvanized
steel is magnetic, and why or why not. The simple answer is that galvanized steel is magnetic, usually. Explaining why galvanized steel is almost always magnetic
requires that we start with the definition of galvanized steel.
How do you clean a galvalume roof?
You will mix ¼ cup of the detergent (mild laundry soap, car washing
soap, or mild dish soap) per gallon of water. Apply the solution to
the surface using a washcloth or soft bristle brush (shown below)
to use the lightest touch that will do the job. Let stand for 5
minutes and then rinse with plain water.
Can Galvalume rust?
Galvalume has barrier corrosion resistance and heat resistance
similar to aluminized material and good bare edge galvanic
protection and forming qualities like galvanized material.
Consequently, Galvalume and Galvalume Plus will resist rust, the elements and fire while providing a sturdy and protective
covering.
