Pneumatic Rubber Fender has been used for almost 50 years, it's
also called marine rubber fender or YOKOHAMA fenders. It is the
main anticollision device for ship application in the world.
Pneumatic Rubber Fender is used as a protective medium for ship to
ship contact, ship to quay,and ship-to-berthing.
Pneumatic Rubber Fenders are a type of marine equipments that are
used to prevent boats, ships and other vessels from colliding
against each other or against docks, wharves and piers.
In other words ship fenders can be simply termed as a marine
bumper. Our pneumatic fender business unit has recently opened the
door to the Floating LNG market,
one of the most challenging applications in the offshore industry. Several large size fenders will be used in between the largest
floating production facility in the world
and LNG carrier during the side-by-side operation.

Reliant on the compressive elasticity of air, Yokohama pneumatic
fenders show no deterioration or variation in performance due to
fatigue or extremely low temperatures (-50°C and below)
thereby negating the need for owners to make regular replacements. Installation is simple and inexpensive, as the fender is supported
by its own weight in the water.
As such, it can be moored easily by means of a guy rope or chain,
and can be removed with ease for transfer to another mooring point.

2.Structure characteristics of the pneumatic rubber fender
Pneumatic Rubber Fenders are made of an outer rubber, reinforcement
synthetic-tyre-cord layer, and inner rubber, vulcanized firmly.
A]. the outer rubbers are used to protect the cord layers and inner
rubber from abrasion and other external forces. This rubber
compound have sufficient tensile and tear resistance strength to
withstand anticipated weather conditions and severe usage.
B]. the reinforcement synthetic-tyre-cord layer strong enough to
maintain the internal air pressure of the fender.
C]. the inner rubber layer seals the pressurized inside the fender.
D]. fenders of diameter 2500mm and larger equipped with safety
valve for releasing excess internal pressure when the fenders are
over-compressed accidentally.
Fender assembly for the end of metal, by inside and outside the two
flanges with bolts, nut clamping, center is a valve, its structure
is similar to automobile tire valve.

3.1 Ship to ship berthing
Accompanied by a large ship, the risk of two ship berthing at sea
is also increased, especially when the weather changes with wind
and waves. Adopting pneumatic fender as the buffer can not only
makes heavy berthing easy, but also improves the efficiency of the
transportation operations. Pneumatic fender is mainly used for Ice
in the Antarctic ocean fishing ships and large oil tanker berthing.
