1746-A10

The 1746-A10 is an Allen-Bradley manufactured chassis used with the SLC 500 Modular Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) platform.

This hardware hosts the electronic circuitry and interconnection slots to distribute the backplane power to the attached modules. It can accommodate up to Ten (10) SLC 500 modules excluding the Power Supply. The Power Supply has a separate attachment slot located at the leftmost part of the hardware. Only SLC 500 Power supplies may only be used with this hardware.

SLC 500 Chassis such as the 1746-A10 allows connection or expansion of chassis with the use of 1746-C9 and 1746-C7 expansion cable. Up to Three (3) SLC chassis may be connected which sums up to 30 SLC 500 modules. Each chassis shall have an individual Power supply.

When installing the chassis, provide mounting clearance of 15.3 cm or 6.0 inches for both TOP and Bottom space, Side clearance of 10.2 cm or 4.0 inches. If installed beside another SLC chassis, maintain 7.7 cm to 10.2 cm or 3.0 to 4.0 inches clearance.

When installing the chassis, use M4 or M5 screws and star washer. Slide the chassis and tighten the screws to lock the chassis to its mounting location. Each chassis must be properly grounded with the use of a ground bar or an adequately designed central ground.
