Steel cylinder liners are usually thin liners. The inner diameters of this type of liners are covered with hard chrome plating. Hard chromium plating in the inner diameter helps extend the life of the ring. Steel cylinder liners are produced ready for assembly. It does not require any operation after it is attached to the engine.
