Converter steel-making is made of molten iron, scrap steel and
ferroalloy as the main raw materials. Without external energy, the
process of steel-making is completed in converter by the physical
heat of molten iron itself and the heat generated by the chemical
reaction between the components of molten iron. The converter is
divided into acid and alkaline according to the refractory
material, according to the parts of the gas blowing into the
furnace with top blowing, bottom blowing and side blowing;
According to the type of gas for air converter and oxygen
converter. The bof is the most commonly used steel-making equipment
because of its fast production speed, large output, high output of
single furnace, low cost and less investment. The converter is
mainly used for the production of carbon steel, alloy steel and

3. Case related to steel-making converter for metallurgy machine
Citic Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. has signed contracts with Shandong
Fulun Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. and Hebei Xingtai Delong Iron and
Steel Co., Ltd. for one 150-ton large vertical steel making
converter and two 80-ton vertical steel making converter
respectively. This is another major breakthrough made by CITIC
Heavy Machinery Company in the field of metallurgy after the
successful manufacturing of shandong Laigang 120 ton vertical
converter. Especially the 150-ton steel-making converter of
Shandong Fulun Iron and Steel Co., LTD., with compact structure and
large steel storage capacity, the furnace body weight reaches 530
tons, making it the largest steel-making converter in the history
of the company. The signing of these three metallurgical converter
contracts is of great significance for the company to further
develop the large metallurgical converter market.
March 5, 2007, in Zambia Chambishi copper smelter project bidding,
our company stood out with strong technical advantages, won two
international advanced level φ 4×11.7m copper smelter converter.
