Generally speaking, excavator mechanical grabber is designed for
demolition, landscaping, timber handling, and moving bulk
materials, like stone, steel, iron, wood, log and so on.
The grab of the excavator is divided into two parts, with two to
five claws or more on the left and right sides respectively. When
working, The Claw is opened and closed on the left and right sides
to grab material. The shape of the grab is like a“Fork”,
so-called“Fork excavator grabber”

FAQ of hydraulic grapple for excavator
Q1: How many types of excavator grab?
A1: 3 types, mechanical grab, hydraulic grapple with rotation and hydraulic grapple withour rotation.
The excavator mechanical grab is driven by bucket cylinder, no
additional hydraulic block and pipeline are needed.
The non-rotation hydraulic grapple should be controlled by adding a
set of hydraulic valve block and pipeline.
The rotated hydraulic gripper needs to be controlled by adding two
sets of hydraulic valve blocks and pipelines.
Q2: Should the telescopic boom carry a clamshell bucket or a grab
bucket?
A2: The clamshell bucket does good help under the working condition
of excavating sludge and sand, with larger excavation volume and
higher efficiency. But under the working condition of sand mixed
with stone, the working efficiency of the shell bucket will be
greatly reduced due to the low excavation force and small opening,
so the grab bucket can be competent for this.
