What is cylinder and how it works?
The cylinder is made of metal and is sealed shut. It contains a piston that moves up and down, compressing the fuel, which ignites and causes combustion. There are two valves at the top of the cylinder; an inlet valve and an outlet valve.

How does hydraulic cylinder work on excavator?
Hydraulic fluid is pumped through the end of the piston and in turn, pushes the rod through the cylinder, which creates fiercely force resulting in the fluctuation on the hydraulic pressure differential of each cylinder of the boom, arm, and bucket. Thus creating a movement of one or both parts of the arm.
