Scope of application:
Corrosion resistance
Generally speaking, the corrosion resistance of copper is lower
than that of gold, platinum, silver and titanium, while gold,
platinum and silver are precious metals, and their practical
application scale is very small; Compared with iron, zinc,
magnesium and other metals, copper has strong corrosion resistance.
Compared with aluminum, copper is more resistant to the corrosion
of non oxidizing acids, alkalis and seawater, but aluminum has
stronger corrosion resistance than copper in the medium of
atmosphere, weak acid and so on.
Workability and formability
The strength of copper is moderate (200 ~ 360MPa), and the
deformation resistance is greater than that of aluminum and far
less than that of steel and titanium. Copper has good plasticity
and can withstand cold and hot pressure processing with large
deformation, such as rolling, extrusion, forging, stretching,
stamping, bending, etc. the deformation degree of rolling and
stretching can reach more than 95% without heat treatment such as
intermediate annealing.
