High specific gravity tungsten alloys are usually refractory metals containing W ni-fe, W Ni-cu or even W Ni-cu-Fe complexes. Rare earths add/or other metals such as cobalt, molybdenum, and chromium to some tungsten alloys. Heavy tungsten alloys have a high melting point, are twice as dense as steel and more than 50 percent heavier than lead.

1. Heavy tungsten alloys are mainly divided into W nickel-iron, W nickel-copper, and even W nickel-iron-copper series. In contrast, western nickel-iron alloys have better mechanical properties and play an important role in the defense industry and various fields of the national economy. It is a very important new military material in the national defense industry, and is gradually developing into a variety of civilian industries.

2. Heavy duty tungsten alloys contain 90-98% high density tungsten (16.5-19.00g/CC). Nickel, iron, and/or copper are used as metal binder bases to hold brittle tungsten particles together, making the tungsten alloy tough and easy to use. Fe-ni is the most commonly used additive, with a weight ratio of 7Ni: 3Fe or 8Ni: 2Fe.
