The heat resistance of CBN can reach 1400~1500 ℃, and the hardness at 800 ℃ is the normal temperature hardness of Al2O3/TiC ceramics. Therefore, when the cutting temperature is high, the workpiece will be softened, and the difference in hardness with the tool will increase. , which is conducive to the cutting process, but has little effect on the tool life.

CBN has high anti-oxidation ability, does not produce oxidation at 1000 °C, and does not chemically react with iron-based materials at 1200~1300 °C, but will hydrolyze with water at about 1000 °C, resulting in a large amount of CBN is worn, so when using PCBN tools for wet cutting, care should be taken to select the type of cutting fluid. In general, wet cutting does not significantly improve the life of PCBN tools, so dry cutting is often used when using PCBN tools.
