Rail Tie Plate:

Rail tie plate is usually also called rail base plate or sole plate, it is the main component in railroad construction of a crane rail or track support system.

Function of the rail tie plate:Rail tie plates are used to support the rails and to fix the entire rail fastening systems. It always works with anchor bolts or spikes together by sustaining the load of a rail track and also transferring some part of the load to the tie sleepers. The tie plate has a flat smooth resting surface to guarantee the vertical alignment and keep the rail in correct gauge for a rail line system.

King Rail can product the rail tie plates by either casting(welded or fabricated type) or forging or rolling, for different rail sections, for wooden, steel or concrete sleepers, whatever the load and rail standard, i.e. UIC 60, UIC 54, RN 45, 90 A, etc.

Types of rail tie plates:

a single or double shoulder construction for supporting various ribbed tie plates.

1. Single shoulder tie plates

The tie plates of single shoulder is designed at the field end of the plate. The customers requires the rail base width becasue the plate's short end or gauge end is place inside of the rail track. If the rails weights running from 56lb though 100 lb. we suggest to use single shoulder tie plates in.

2. Double shoulder base plates

We supply the types of 2-hole, 4-hole, 5-hole, 6-holes or 8-hole ,according to customer requests. If the rail that is large than 100 lb, it is usually used the double shoulder plates.

3. Casting rail tie plate

A cost saving casting rail tie plate is another common technology for producing rail tie plates.

• Type: used for rail UIC54, UIC60, 50kg rail, 60kg rail,S49 and customized sizes
• Material: QT500-7 or QT450-10 -low carbon steel or high carbon steel by forging, and low carbon steel S275JR, Q235,etc. by rolling.
• Standard: UIC864-6

4. Base plates for KPO fastening systems

In KPO fastening systm , a rail base plate is very important to be used for supporting the rail and fix the whole fastening system,working together with rail bolts and spikes.

The other types such as the hook twin type plates , rail sole plates or other standard plates are customized accordingly!
