Electric Slew Drive Description

Slew drives with high accuracy with 24/12V electric motors or stepper motors are designed in concentrated solar power (CSP) stations like heliostat, parabolic, fresnel and concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) stations. The vertical slew drive can achieve rotate in one direction and improve power generation efficiency. They can be also applied in PV tracker-single axis & dual axis solar tracking solutions etc.

Trough system with slewing drive
The trough route belongs to the linear focusing system. The trough parabolic condensing mirror is used to concentrate the sunlight on the focal line, and a tubular collector is installed on the focal line to absorb the focused solar radiation energy.
The advantage of the trough system is that the technology is the most mature, and the equipment itself in each link is relatively simple, the difficulty of mass production and installation is not difficult, and the maintenance cost is also lower. This makes this technical route the type of CSP station with the largest installed capacity at present. However, due to its low heat collection efficiency, it cannot heat the heat transfer medium to a too high temperature, and it tends to be gradually replaced by tower systems.
