Therefore, in order to prolong the life of the pH electrode and the accuracy of the results, the daily maintenance of the electrode is very important. If the electrode is not cleaned after use or electrode maintenance is neglected for a long time, the electrode will no longer be accurate and the accuracy of the system will quickly degrade. This is manifested by a gradual decrease in the slope of the electrode. When the slope drops to 50mV/pH (equivalent to 85% of the slope) or the zero point exceeds ± 30 mV, some treatment methods can restore the electrode to the expected performance, but for the accuracy of the measurement results, it is necessary to replace a new electrode.
