Copper Tungsten Edm Electrodes are used when products or parts need to have high heat resistance, low thermal expansion rate, and high electrical or thermal conductivity. Copper tungsten (tungsten copper, CuW or WCu) is a mixture of copper and tungsten. Since copper and tungsten cannot dissolve in each other, the material consists of different particles of one metal dispersed in a matrix of the other. Therefore, the structure is not a real alloy, but a metal matrix composite.

Tungsten copper alloys are used in the manufacture of engines and electrical equipment. It is also used in aviation and aerospace. Electrodes, refractory parts, heat sinks, rocket parts and electrical contacts are all made from tungsten copper alloys.

The material combines the properties of two metals to form a material that is heat, ablation resistant, thermally and electrically conductive, and easy to process.
