Feed processing methods:
1, cut short fat. Straw, sweet potato vines, grass, hay,
vegetables, straws, etc. must be cut short before they can be used
to feed livestock. Cow straw should be cut into 2~3 cm; Feed pigs
green vegetables cut into 1~2 cm; Sweet potato vine made about 1
cm. Generally, it should be short and not long, so as to achieve
the feeding effect of cutting three knife inch grass and gaining
fat without material. If there are impurities, sediment and so on
to wash, screen.
2. Crush for digestion. Grain (grain), sweet potato, cassava and
other feed, must be ground fine feed, to aid digestion. The degree
of grinding should be based on the type of feed and livestock. Pig,
cattle feed can be crushed into medium or coarser particles 1~2 mm;
Chicken should be ground into powder. Sweet potato, cassava can be
first cut into pieces after drying and then crushed, sweet potato
can also beat pulp feeding.
3. Soak to soften. Corn, wheat, sorghum, bean cake and other feeds,
before feeding with light salt boiling water soak some time, so
that it softens and then feeding, both save feed, and easy to
digest, livestock and poultry like to eat. General material, water
ratio is 1∶2. The duration of soaking should depend on the season
and the type of feed. The soaking time should be short in hot
summer weather to prevent the feed from rotting and deteriorating.
