Note

The normally high pressure die casting process for pure 6061 die casting will be, melt the aluminum 6061 into liquid ( liquid aluminum temperature is up to 730℃-790℃), then inject the liquid pure aluminum material in the barrel and use the high pressure injecting the material into the aluminum die casting mold, this die casting mold made my steel and the gate size is over 3mm, and the mold temperature is 180℃-240℃, after material injected in the pure aluminum die casting mold then cold the mold temperature, after that open the mold and ejector the cold aluminum die casting part out from the mold, this whole process we called die casting process.

For the pure aluminum die casting part, the mold draft angle should be much high than aluminum alloy die casting, the purpose is increasing the pure aluminum flow rate and easy to full filling the mold cavity, pure aluminum die casting parts including 2024 aluminum, 2A12 die casting, 1060 aluminum die casting, 1070 aluminum casting, etc.

Pure aluminum die casting part is very hard to produce but there is still possible, today the heat-sink part are made by pure aluminum, as we all know pure aluminum is easy to stick in the mold cavity, below some suggestion that will help you to know about this process, this is pure aluminum die casting process which we have done over years

• Choose the best suitable Release agent for the pure aluminum die casting
• keep a stable temperature in the molten oven (keep the molten oven temperature over 720 degrees, The temperature measuring rod is accurate with carbonized material and is not easily eroded by liquid aluminum)
• The crucible in the melting furnace should be made of the graphite material, which is not easy to cause the temperature difference between the upper and lower sides to be too large.
• keep the die casting mold temperature under 220 degree
• The cooling time after injection should not be too long, the ejection time after opening the mold has to control within 0.3 sec.
• mold gate size is much bigger than aluminum alloy, such as ADC 12.
• the flow path and the feed port are as smooth as possible when shooting.
• Spray as much as possible with automatic spray, otherwise, the mold cavity temperature is not easy to maintain
