904L ultra austenitic stainless steel is a low carbon, high nickel,
molybdenum austenitic stainless steel, which is a special material
introduced from H·S company in France. With good activation -
passivation transformation ability, excellent performance, in the
non-oxidizing acid such as sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid,
phosphoric acid has a good corrosion resistance, in the neutral
containing chlorine ion medium has a good pitting resistance, and
has good crack corrosion resistance and stress corrosion
resistance. Suitable for various concentrations of sulfuric acid
below 70℃, under atmospheric pressure resistance to any
concentration, any temperature of acetic acid and formic acid and
acetic acid in the mixed acid is also very good.
20Cr-24Ni-4.3Mo-1.5Cu grade and standard: UNS N08904, DIN1.4539,
ASTM A240 (*** standard will be classified as stainless steel
series, the original standard ASME SB-625 will be classified as
nickel base alloy series), SUS890L.
904L is a complete austenitic structure. Compared with austenitic
stainless steel with high molybdenum content, 904L is not sensitive
to the precipitation of ferrite and α phase.
