Introduction

The torsion spring can store and release angular energy, or statically fix the mechanism in place by deflecting the legs about the axis of the body centerline. They can resist the force exerted by torsion or rotation. When deflected in the preferred direction of the artificial wind, this spring will reduce the diameter of the main body and slightly increase the length of the main body.

A torsion spring is a coil spring that applies torque or rotational force.
