What's cement resistor ?
Cement resistors are resistors potted with cement (in fact, it is
not cement but refractory mud, which is commonly called), that is,
the resistance wire is wound on a non-alkaline heat-resistant
porcelain piece, and the outside is heat-resistant,
moisture-resistant and corrosion-resistant The material is
protected and fixed, and the wire-wound resistor is placed in a
square porcelain frame, with special non-combustible heat
resistance.
Cement filled and sealed. There are two types of cement resistors:
ordinary cement resistors and cement wire wound resistors. The
appearance of the cement resistor is shown in the figure. Cement
resistors are a type of wire wound resistors, which are relatively
powerful resistors that can allow relatively large currents to
pass. Its function is the same as a general resistance, but it can
be used in large current situations, such as connecting in series
with a motor to limit the starting current of the motor, and the
resistance is generally not large. Cement resistors have the
characteristics of large size, shock resistance, humidity
resistance, heat resistance, good heat dissipation, and low price.
They are widely used in power adapters, audio equipment, audio
frequency dividers, instruments, meters, televisions, automobiles
and other equipment.
