Q345B is a kind of low-alloy steel, also named 16Mn, which is
generally impacted at 20 ℃ at normal temperature or free from
experiment. Q345 is widely used in bridges, vehicles, ships,
pressure vessels, special equipment, etc. The contents of sulfur
and phosphorus in Q345B are relatively high. They are harmful
elements in steel. It is easy to make the steel pipe green and
affect the working performance under low temperature environment. Q
represents the yield strength, 345 represents the yield strength of
this steel is 345mpa, and B represents the grade differentiation of
low temperature impact resistance of steel, mainly due to different
impact temperatures and different quality of steel impacted at
different temperatures.

Difference between Q235 and Q345:
Q235 - metal structural parts, carburized or cyanide parts with low
core strength requirements, pull rods, connecting rods, hooks,
couplers, bolts, nuts, sleeves, shafts and weldments.
Q345 -- good comprehensive mechanical properties, low temperature
performance, good plasticity and weldability. It can be used as
structures, mechanical parts, building structures and general metal
structures bearing dynamic loads such as medium and low pressure
vessels, oil tanks, vehicles, cranes, mining machinery, power
stations and bridges. It can be used in hot rolling or normalizing
state. It can be used for various structures in cold areas below -
40 ℃.
If the structure is controlled by strength, Q345 can be considered;
if the structure is controlled by stiffness, Q235 can be
considered. Q345 is a little expensive, but it can save materials
because of its high strength. The specific selection can be
