The function of the positioners is to ensure that the valve
position, which is the controlled variable x, is assigned a
predetermined input signal or reference variable w. The input
signal received from a control system is compared to the travel of
the control valve by the positioners. They then generate a
corresponding output signal pressure, pst, which is the output
variable y.
The double-acting actuators utilize a reversing amplifier to
produce two opposed signal pressures. By doing so, the actuators
can move the valve in either direction. Therefore, if one signal
pressure is increased, the other pressure is decreased in an
opposed manner.
The positioners play an essential role in industrial control
systems. Without them, it would be challenging to assign a specific
input signal to the valve position accurately. The reversing
amplifier in the double-acting actuators ensures that the valve can
move in both directions, giving greater control and flexibility in
the system.
Features:
The product can be mounted in any position and is suitable for both
normal and split-range operations. It boasts an excellent dynamic
response and has a negligible influence on the supply air. The
proportional band (P band) is adjustable, as is the air output
capacity. The product has a low air supply consumption and is very
insensitive to mechanical vibrations. Additionally, its
low-maintenance compact design makes it easy to use.
There are different versions of this product available for use in
hazardous areas. These versions have the type of protection
intrinsic safety II 2G Ex ia IIC T6 or II 3G Ex nA II T6 for Zone
2.
There is also a type of protection called "Flameproof enclosure" Ex
d with Type 3766 Positioner and Type 6116 i/p Converter (Fig. 2).
This is an option for attaching the product.
The product can also be directly attached to Type 3277 Actuator
(Fig. 3). Additionally, it can be attached to actuators according
to IEC 60534-6 and rotary actuators according to VDI/VDE 3845.
