The OptiX OSN 9560 intelligent optical switching platform (the
OptiX OSN 9560 for short) functions as optical core switching (OCS)
equipment. It is mainly used as key service grooming nodes at
national backbones, provincial backbones, and metropolitan area
network (MAN) backbones.
Key features of the OptiX OSN 9560 include:
The OptiX OSN 9560 provides great switching capacity and powerful
networking capability. It can form chain, ring, or mesh networks,
and groom services of VC-4, VC-3, and VC-12 granularities.
The OptiX OSN 9560 can receive and transmit STM-1, STM-4, STM-16,
STM-64, GE, 10GE signals, as well as VC-4-4c, VC-4-16c, and
VC-4-64c concatenated signals.
The OptiX OSN 9560 supports ASON features such as automatic
end-to-end service configuration, service level agreement (SLA),
traffic engineering, and mesh networking and protection.
The OptiX OSN 9560 can be used alone or with other optical
transmission equipment for networking. In addition, it can be
interconnected with third-party SDH and DWDM equipment that comply
with ITU-T recommendations.
Protection for Ethernet Services
The OptiX OSN 9560 provides network-level protection for multiple
types of Ethernet services.
The OptiX OSN 9560 provides the following network-level protection
types for Ethernet boards:
Link capacity adjustment scheme (LCAS)
Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol
(RSTP)
Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP)
Link state pass through (LPT)
Ethernet ring protection switching (ERPS)
