Compass hardware CNC milling service is using a selection of stainless steel types with some different characteristics.

410 stainless steel: martensitic steel, magnetic, tough, heat-treatable
17-4 stainless steel: good corrosion resistance, can be hardened to 44 HRC
303 stainless steel: excellent toughness and machinability, lower corrosion resistance than 304
2205 duplex stainless steel: the highest strength and hardness, can withstand temperatures up to 300 ℃
440C stainless steel: can be oil quenched to achieve maximum hardness and heat treated to 58-60 HRC
420 stainless steel: mild corrosion resistance, high heat resistance and improved strength
316 stainless steel: performance is similar to 304, with higher corrosion resistance and chemical resistance
904L stainless steel: resistant to local chloride corrosion and corrosion
Zinc alloy: easy to handle, good electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance
