Product Description:
An oil seal is a molded polymer – material sealer, which is
permanently adhered to a metal ring, which is use to close or seal
gaps between moving or stationary parts of an engine or machinery,
preventing the entrance of any external agents or, forestall any
oil lubricant leaking . It is manufactured in materials such as
silicone, nitrile, viton and teflon.
The most important types of dynamic seals are oil seals for use on
rotating shafts, and valve stem seals for reducing the flow of oil
through the cylinder-head into the combustion chamber.
The purpose of the crankshaft oil seals is to act as a physical
barrier retaining the lubricating oil where it is bound to be, to
prevent the lubricating oil from leaking outside even under high
pressure of the oil and to act as a barrier and prevent dirt,
contamination and other external entities from entering the system
containing the lubricating oil.
