The CA168-C is a cost-effective solution for residential electricity smart metering that combines Calin's metering expertise with high quality communication technologies. It adopts STS and 3DES encryption standard at the same time for prepayment operations. An IC card contained with STS encrypted value is used to transfer the credit and other related information between the vending server and the meter. The card is the unique token for both the meter and the consumer that binds with this meter within vendor's system.

The meter is built with a modular communication unit and availale with PLC, RF, GSM wireless communication according to local infrastructure conditions. As part of Calin's end-to-end smart metering solutions, the CA3168-C meter enables multi-dwelling applications, automatic meter reading, remote management, load control and reduced operating costs.It supports flexible onsite and remote configuration of emergency unit, power limit, low credit warning, repayment control, etc.
