A. Input signals are firstly diagnosed separately, and the items of diagnosis are:

1. Whether the signal exceeds the maximum possible range in normal condition, if it exceeds,

it is considered (range) fault;

2. Whether the signal exceeds the maximum possible change rate in normal condition,

and if it exceeds, it is considered (rate) fault; 3. If one of the above two items occurs,

it is considered that the measurement circuit on one side has (channel) fault.​
