Symptom of turbocharger failure?
The small-displacement turbocharged engine is a popular power choice at present. The advantage of this engine
is that it can reduce fuel consumption and maintain power, but the
disadvantage is that the supercharger is easy to damage.
Symptom of supercharger bad:
Engine weakness;
There was a sharp sound when the engine was running;
Increased fuel consumption;
Burning oil exhaust from black smoke;
Turbocharger failure causes:
1, turbocharger rotor bearing wear.
Performance: when the turbocharger is running, the rotor impeller
hits the shell wall and produces a sharp sound. When the
turbocharger is removed, it can obviously feel the gap by pushing
the rotor shaft with fingers.
Reason: turbocharger rotor in normal working speed can be as high
as 30,000 RPM, so the natural wear situation is more serious.
2, supercharger oil leakage.
Performance: it is because the turbocharger working speed is very
high, so the need for oil lubriion. But if the oil seal is not good
leakage, it will cause the oil to be sucked into the cylinder
combustion, resulting in black smoke exhaust.
Reason: the oil seal of the supercharger is aggravated by high
temperature and high speed wear, and the ability of sealing oil is
reduced, resulting in oil leakage.
Because the supercharger is driven by exhaust gas at high speed, so
the need for timely cooling and lubriion, otherwise it will burn
out the turbine and cause the turbine to burn oil. Therefore, in
addition to the above supercharger itself caused by the fault, the
failure of the cooling system and lubriion system will also lead to
the damage of the turbocharger.
