Gate Valve can be divided into single slab gate and double slab gate valve. Double slab gate valve is also called expanding gate valve who seal the valve by pushing split gate. Expanding gate valve is normally work under 5,000 psi. but single slab gate valve is often adopted from 2,000psi to 20,000psi. but for geothermal wellhead configuration, expanding gate valves are adopted. For this kind of gate valve, working pressure is according to API 6D.

Gate Valve is also can divided into rising stem and non-rising stem gate valve. If it is rising stem gate valve, normally there is balance stem at the bottom of body.

If bore size reaches 7-1/16", we can choose ball screw gate valve which reduce operation torque. and Ball screw gate valve belong to rising stem gate valve.
