4oz and 6oz fiber glass cloth are most common used glass fabric for surfboard building. E glass cloth is very cost effective. 4oz fiberglass cloth roll is usually used for shortboard.

When glass a surfboard, light weight e-glass cloth is always be used in combinations. For example, builders often lay 2 layers of 4oz fibre glass on the deck of surfboard. On the buttom one layer. If need more strength it can be two layers fiberglass cloth. Fiberglass fabric can keep the weight down.
