1. Probe Types

iNSIGHT 23R ultrasound system provides five probe types, such as convex array probe, linear array probe, phased array probe, cavity probe, and volume probe. The detail information is listed in Table 3.4. The probes should meet the following conditions as below:

2. Connect and Disconnect the Probe

◎ Before connecting or disconnecting the probe, make sure the system is in
frozen (i.e., press the Freeze button); otherwise it may cause the machine malfunction.
◎ The 4-D volume probe should be connected to the bottom port with a "4D"
mark; otherwise, 4-D feature will not work.
◎ Except the 4-D volume probe, all other probes can connect any probe
ports.

◎ Before connecting the probe, make sure the probe head, cable and the
connector are in good conditions (no crack, damage etc.). Using any defect probe may have risk of electric shock.
◎ When connecting or disconnecting the probe, do not touch the metal pins
of the probe connector.

4. Operation

The user can connect the probe at any time whether the system is on or off. During system operation, make sure the system is frozen before connecting the probe.

1. Take out the probe from its storage box carefully;
2. The probe head must be placed in the probe holder and the probe cable
should be hung on the cable hook to avoid accidentally dropping;
3. Make sure the probe latch is at Open position, see Fig. 3.16, and insert the
probe connector to the appropriate probe port carefully and firmly;
4. Rotate the probe latch clockwise to lock the probe;
