AgCdo contacts belong to the group of the most widely used on the field of low voltage electrica apparayus.

They combine a satisfactory resisance against contact welding with a good arc erosion resistance and a fairly low contact resistance over its completed service life.

They are produced with two different technique, pre-oxidation-sistering-extruding ad internal oxidation. In both case CdO content may range from 10 to 20 WT%.

However, Cd and Cdo are considered to be hazardous to health and the environment. For this reason the use of AgCdO materials will be banned in a number of countries.
