Matting Agent For Coatings
Description
It is a synthetic amorphous silica appearing as white powder. It is
a micronized precipitated silica matting agent for both
solvent-based and waterbome system. Optimal matting efficiency is
achieved by using silica with high pore volume and by fine control
of the particle size and particle size distribution. It provides a
superior matting and flatting, excellent coating appearance and
transparency, cost efficient, effective anti-settling agent and
easy dispersion, smooth, abrasion resistant films of high surface
quality. These efficient matting agent are suitable for unpigmented
and pigmented systems. It mainly used for wood coating, decorative
coating, industrial coating, plastic coating, coil coating and ink.
Characters
1, High Matting Efficiency: As this high-grade matt powder improves
its porosity to 1.8-2.0 and decreases the distribution of
micropores and ultra-large pore, the distribution of pores is more
symmetrical and greatly improves the efficiency of delusterant; the
diameter is narrower so as to reduce the negative influence of
small granules on the effect.
2,Excellent Transparency: The purity of SiO2 in these products
reaches to 99.3%,and special method is adopted for surface
treatment so that its refraction index reaches 1.47,being close to
that of colophony,i.e. 1.40~1.60,which greatly improves its transparency in
coating film and avoid the low-grade matt powder's problem of
turning white and blue on the surface.
3, Easy to Disperse: Advanced rubbing technology makes narrower
distribution of diameter of granules, so that matting agent can be
easily added in any production procedure and can be easily
dispersed, which saves the processing time.
4, Excellent Hand-feeling: These silicas have minimal effect on the
mechanical properties, allowing
development of smooth films with excellent hand-feel, scratch
resistance and stain resistance.
5, Excellent Suspension Performance: This products have good
anti-settling, suspension is good, no
precipitation.
