But the new CATV system transmits signals via fiber (Optical Fiber), instead of using a coaxial cable, the wavelength of fiber light wave is shorter than wavelength the high frequency radio wave, so to transmit signals via fiber will increase the transmission capacity greatly and it also can achieve high fidelity. The use of optical fiber will speed up the development of CATV and make it go further. CATV offers prospect of sitting at home to press the TV button then the stock market, department stores, etc. can be seen at a glance.
