    Digital signal quality of fiber optic transceiver can be measured through the analysis of the eye diagram. Quality of digital signal including amplitude stability, intersymbol interference, signal distortion, light reflection, extinction ratio, jitter, overshoot and relaxation oscillation noise, modulation circuit, etc.
    Opening degree and eyelid thickness in the center of the eye diagram reflect allowable tolerance of intersymbol interference, dispersion and extinction ratio, amplitude stability, rough measurement of overshoot and oscillation, light reflex and noise.
    Upper and lower sides of the eye diagram reflects bandwidth and circuit matching information. The steepness reflects bandwidth, line roughness reflect the circuit matching information, but excessive steepness is easy to produce dispersion phase modulation and cross phase modulation; Extinction ratio is best when upper and lower sides intersection of the eye diagram is in 50%, but the pulse width will be broadened in the optical signal transmission process, cross point will be moved up relative to the sending side. In order to facilitate long distance transmission, and ensure that cross point ratio of receiver side is around 50, and make sensitivity of receiver side to be best, we generally suggest intersections should be moved slightly downward at the sending side. General suggest cross point ratio of transmission side to be control at 40%~45%.Thickness of the cross point of the eye diagram reflects the degree of jitter.
