1.What is a Marine Door?
Marine doors are closing device of marine ships' entrance.
According the material of ship's bulkhead or wall, there are two
installation means bolted and welded. Most of marine steel doors
are welded type. Marine door is an important part of marine
outfitting project.

2.What is a watertight door?
A watertight door is a door that meets the watertight requirements
to prevent the hull from being submerged in water once it is
broken. The effectiveness of such arrangements is subject to a
number of factors, but it is necessary to ensure that any
watertight doors on the bulkheads are closed at or almost
immediately after the occurrence of a rupture. It is also necessary
to limit the number of access openings in bulkheads and to exercise
the strictest control over the operation of watertight doors
designed to close such openings. Watertight doors shall be provided
at the entrances and exits of watertight bulkheads below deck, in
the form of sliding and hinged.
Watertight metal doors on watertight bulkheads and coaming inside
ships. There are two categories of watertight hinged doors and
watertight sliding doors.
The former is easy to open and close, light structure,The latter is
robust but requires control systems.
The class, installation space, quantity, tightness requirements,
transmission mechanism control mode and use conditions of
watertight doors are stipulated in ship building codes and relevant
international conventions.
3.What is a weathertight door?
Weathertight doors usually refer to the outer doors of
accommodation, indicating that they are weatherproof. A flushing
test is usually carried out. The flushing test is divided into two
kinds, one is to use no pressure of natural water flow for the door
dousing test, generally for the door above three floors, the other
is to use pressure of water flushing test, generally for the outer
door below three floors.
4.What is a fire door?
Fire door is to point to the door that can satisfy fire resistance
stability, integrality and heat insulation requirement in certain
time. It is located in the fire partition, evacuation stairwell,
vertical shaft and so on have a certain fire resistance of fire
separation.
Fire door in addition to the role of ordinary doors, more has the
role of preventing the spread of fire and smoke diffusion, can
prevent the spread of fire in a certain period of time, to ensure
evacuation.
5.What is the classification of fire doors?
Marine fire doors generally can be divided into: CLASS A, B, C and
H according to fire resistance rating. In China, the industry
standard for Marine fire doors is CB/T 3234.
6.How is the door watertight?
Generally, the sealing rubber strip on the door leaf is compacted
on the door frame by the locking mechanism. Take manual hinged
pressure watertight doors for example, the standard used in China
is GB/T 33572. The strength and tightness requirements of
watertight doors are: watertight doors should be able to bear the
maximum static water working pressure plus 0.05MPa, continuous
pressure 15min, watertight doors should not be deformed. When the
flushing pressure of watertight door is not less than 0.2mpa and
the flushing time is not less than 3min, the inner surface of
watertight door should be free of water droplets or water traces.
7.What are Marine Doores used for?
Marine door is the closing device for the entrance and exit of ship
cabin. Its general functions include: tight door (watertight door,
weathertight door, airtight door, choke door), fire door, shielding
door (sound insulation door, electromagnetic shielding door,

11.What are the Components of Marine Door?
Hinged steel Marine doors generally include the following
accessories: locking mechanism, door frame, door leaf, stiffener,
sealing strip, handwheel or handle, hinge, lock, door hook. If it's
a fire door, there's insulation. If it's a remote door, install a
control system.
Hydraulic sliding steel Marine door, generally including
accessories: door frame, door leaf, clamping device, track, roller,
cylinder, sealing strip. If it's a fire door, there's insulation.
If it's a remote door, install a control system.
If bolted, accessories such as bolt nut gaskets are also included.
12.How do you Install Marine Door?
Marine doors generally adopt welding type or bolt type
installation, both of which have relatively mature technology and
do not have obvious advantages and disadvantages. Customer
according to their own actual situation to choose the required
installation type. Due to the different installation types, the
product types and accessories are slightly different. Before
placing orders, customers need to explain in advance which
installation type of the products they need in the future.
