1.APPLICATIONS:
Plain carbon steel for mechanical engineering and automotive
components.
It is usually supplied untreated but can be supplied to order in
the normalized or finally heat treated (quenched and tempered to
"Q" or "R" properties), which is adequate for a wide range of
applications.
It is a very popular grade of through-hardening medium carbon
steel, which is readily machinable in any condition. It is suitable
for the manufacture of parts such as general-purpose axles and
shafts, gears, bolts and studs. It can be further surface-hardened
typically to 50-55 HRC by induction processes, producing components
with enhanced wear resistance.
In its heat treated forms possesses good homogenous metallurgical
structures, giving consistent machining properties.

3.Process: EAF/LD+LF+VOD+hot Rolled +Heat Treatment(optional)
4.Hot forming and heat treatment:
hot rolling:1100 - 850°C
Normalising:840 - 880°C/air
Soft annealing:680 - 710°C/furnace
Hardening:820 - 860°C/water, oil
Tempering:550 - 660°C
Treated for cold shearability +S:max. 255 HB
Soft annealed +A:max. 207 HB
5.SIZE RANGE:

Hot Rolled: 10mm-320mm
Length:2000-13000mm or as required
6.SURFACE FINISHES:
Black, Peeled (K12), Cold Drawn, Turned & Polished (H10, H11),
Precision Ground (H9, H8).
7.Test: Ultrasonic test according to SEP 1921-84 C/c
8.Certificate of Quality:
issued in English, in addition the normal terms, production
process, the mechanical property yield strength, tensile strength,
elongation and hardness, forged ratio, UT test result, Grain size,
heat treatment methods and the sample of is shown on the
Certificate of Quality.
9.Delivery:
products in stock can be prepared within 5 days after you make your
order. Products as your order can be finished within 15 days less
than 500 tons. If you have specific requirements can be finished
within 7 days less than 500 tons.
10.Marking:
Heat No. will be cold stamped and Steel grade, diameter mm, length
mm, and the manufacturer LOGO and weight kg is painted.
