Airtight MRI Power-Operated Sliding Door
Product Performance & Applications
The Airtight MRI Power-Operated Sliding Door combines
electromagnetic shielding with strict air sealing requirements for
MRI environments where contamination control is critical, such as
operating rooms or cleanroom facilities. This door maintains the RF
shielding integrity required for MRI systems while providing the
airtight seal necessary to prevent the spread of harmful gases or
microorganisms. The sliding configuration saves floor space and
facilitates easy patient transport on beds or stretchers.
The electric drive system operates on 24V safety voltage with
battery backup for emergency opening. Safety light curtains across
the aperture provide non-contact obstacle detection, with automatic
stop and reverse functionality to prevent injury or damage. The
door is constructed from 304 stainless steel and aluminum with
brushed stainless steel finish, providing the corrosion resistance
and easy-cleaning surface required in sterile environments.
The design includes adjustable perimeter seals that ensure both RF
attenuation and air tightness. The door can be modified to
accommodate code 5 lead shielding for intra-operative MRI
applications where radiation protection is also required. The
manual override handle provides emergency operation capability
during power failure. Door operation includes open and close
functions, home position selection, and emergency stop capabilities
from the standard control panel.
