Product Description
This Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 to Mini SAS SFF-8087 connector cable is designed for internal high-speed storage links where reliable,
low-loss signal transmission is critical. One end uses a compact SFF-8643 high-density connector for modern RAID or HBA cards, while the other end features the
classic SFF-8087 plug for legacy backplanes and drive cages,
allowing easy migration and mixed-generation configurations in server platforms.
Precision 30AWG copper twinax wires with individual and overall braid shielding maintain controlled
impedance and low crosstalk across all differential pairs. The
black PET braided sleeve provides mechanical protection, neat cable
management and a professional look inside high-end electronic
systems. Robust metal latches on both terminals ensure a secure mating interface under vibration and frequent
maintenance.
OEM customers can request length changes, alternative routing,
labeling, and integration into complex harnesses that combine SAS
data with auxiliary power or control lines, meeting different chassis and PCB layouts.

Applications
Internal connection between Mini SAS HD host ports and SAS-8087
backplanes in 1U/2U/4U rackmount servers
Expansion links in JBOD/JBOF enclosures, DAS/NAS devices and
enterprise storage arrays
High-density RAID subsystems in data centers and GPU/AI servers
where compact, shielded cables are required
Industrial computers and embedded systems using SAS-based SSD/HDD
modules on customized PCB backplanes
Precautions
Confirm that host and backplane interfaces are SFF-8643 and
SFF-8087 respectively and that the pin assignment matches the
system design before mating the connectors.
Avoid excessive bending near the over-molded terminals; follow the recommended minimum bend radius of the SAS wire cable to preserve impedance and lifespan.
Keep the harness away from sharp edges, high-current power lines and strong EMI sources wherever possible to maintain stable
high-speed signal quality.
For special environments such as telecom, industrial or automotive electronics, enhanced temperature rating, additional shielding,
and dedicated connector or pitch options can be customized on request.
