An inline fiber optic enclosure is a passive housing unit designed
to protect, organize, and manage fusion splices or mechanical splices in a fiber optic cable that is running point-to-point ("in-line").
Unlike a terminal or distribution enclosure that serves as an
end-point for connections, an inline enclosure is placed mid-span along a cable run.
