Petroleum catalytic cracking is the core process of petroleum refining. It converts heavy oil into light fuels such as gasoline and diesel through catalysts. During the process, a large amount of oxygen needs to be continuously introduced to participate in oxidation reactions. The flow rate, purity, and stability of oxygen directly affect reaction efficiency, product yield, and safe production. Although traditional cryogenic oxygen generators can provide large flow rates of oxygen, they have problems such as long startup time (several hours), high energy consumption, and complex maintenance, making it difficult to adapt to the continuous operation and load fluctuation needs of catalytic cracking units.
The 1500Nm³/h super-large flow rate of the VPSA Oxygen System can be achieved through parallel connection of 6-8 modules. A single module failure will not affect the overall oxygen supply, ensuring process continuity. The oxygen purity of 93-95% can accurately match the requirements of catalytic cracking reactions, not only ensuring the full cracking of heavy oil but also avoiding energy waste caused by excessively high purity. The core advantage of its Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption Oxygen Systems technology lies in high efficiency and energy saving. The unit energy consumption of 0.38kWh/Nm³ is more than 30% lower than that of traditional cryogenic oxygen generators. Petrochemical enterprises have strict requirements for the installation of VPSA Oxygen System, which directly affects the equipment's operating efficiency and service life. Firstly, the installation site should be a flat and well-ventilated area, away from high-temperature heat sources and corrosive gases. A maintenance space of at least 1.5 meters should be reserved to ensure convenient equipment heat dissipation and maintenance. Secondly, the equipment foundation should be cast with reinforced concrete, with a bearing capacity of not less than 2.5t/㎡, to avoid vibration generated during operation affecting surrounding equipment.
For pipeline connection, corrosion-resistant stainless steel pipelines should be used, and PTFE gaskets should be adopted for flange sealing to prevent oxygen leakage and pipeline corrosion. After the installation of oxygen pipelines, pressure testing (test pressure is 1.5 times the working pressure) and nitrogen purging should be carried out to remove impurities and moisture in the pipelines and avoid contaminating molecular sieves. In addition, the electrical system should comply with explosion-proof standards, with a grounding resistance of ≤4Ω, to ensure safe operation in petrochemical explosion-proof workshops.
