ACSR Bare Overhead Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy-Steel Reinforced
Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) is concentrically
stranded conductor with one or more layers of hard drawn aluminium
wire on galvanized steel wire core. The core can be single wire or
stranded depending on the size. Additional corrosion protection is
available through the application of grease to the core or infusion
of the complete cable with grease.
Used as bare overhead transmission conductor and as primary and
secondary distribution conductor and messenger support. ACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be
achieved without sacrificing campacity.

The Characteristics of ACSR:
Proven Durability and Environmental Resistance
ACSR is engineered for a long service life, often exceeding several
decades.
Corrosion Resistance: The aluminum wires form a protective oxide
layer when exposed to air. The steel core is typically hot-dip
galvanized (coated with zinc) to provide robust corrosion
protection, safeguarding the conductor's strength element.
Thermal Stability: The steel core has a higher melting point than
aluminum, providing a margin of safety under short-circuit
conditions. ACSR also exhibits good thermal stability, allowing it
to handle operational temperature variations.
Applications
The steel core aluminum strand has the characteristics of simple
structure, easy erection and maintenance, low line cost, large
transmission capacity, and is conducive to the laying of special
geographical conditions such as rivers and valleys, good electrical
conductivity, sufficient mechanical strength, large tensile
strength, and magnify the distance of the tower rod. Therefore, it
is widely used in overhead transmission and distribution lines of
various voltage levels.

Wooden drums with dimater 1.1m, 1.2m, 1.6m, 1.8m and 2.2m etc.
Aluminium conductors are commonly wound onto wooden or steel reels,
which provide protection during transport and handling.

Pay attention to the following steps during installation:
- Tension control: It is recommended to control the tension at 20%
-30% of the rated value to avoid excessive stretching.
- Sag adjustment: Adjust the sag according to the ambient
temperature, generally within the range of 1% -3% span.
- Connection processing: Use specialized crimping tools, and the
recommended crimping pressure is 20-30MPa.
